FAQ's

Website Design

Do you require a deposit?
Yes. A deposit of 25% is required to secure services and a time slot. This deposit is to be paid before we will commence your project. This fee is strictly non refundable and is deducted from the final payable amount. A deposit will cover the reservation of your professional, thus declining work on your behalf, and does not take into account extra expenses of which may require an extra non refundable fee.

How long do the websites take?
The average project takes from between two and four weeks with static sites often taking less time than e-commerce or content management driven sites. Sites built upon these platform usually average three to six weeks. The main cause of a site suffering a late launch is that the relevant content has not been made available when needed by the web designer. We aim to work closely with our customers to ensure that all sites are launched as agreed by their planned launch date and for this reason we will not commence a project until a reasonable amount of content has been submitted by the client.

Can you host my website?
Yes. Hosting ranges from £50 - £200 and is suitable for the small to medium business set up. Our designers are familiar with our hosting and are therefore able to execute changes quickly reducing problems usually encountered with other hosting companies. Unfortunately we do not host the Magento E-commerce platform but can advise you on where to host your e-commerce site.

Do your websites conform to w3c validation standards?
We aim to maintain a higher standard of website and for this reason we always aspire to the W3C Webstandards high level of expectation. Approximately 90 of our past website designs conform to transitional/strict w3c standards. We strive to ensure that sites carry the W3C quality label however if a client requests a specific features that does not validate we may find it difficult or impossible to accommodate webstandards.

How soon will I appear on Google?
As a predominantly design based company we do not offer any search engine guarantees however when constructing a site we are aware of utilising the features available to us so that you reap the benefits from the search engines. We use software and platforms with excellent search engine credibility and have high achieved results naturally for many of our sites.

Much that is involved in the search engine selection process is out of our hands once we hand over your website but we do however educate our clients on best practices to ensure their site performs well on the search engine. For those seeking a higher Google position it is possible to employ a search engine optimiser. These professionals are much more able to achieve high results by the manipulation of text and the collection of links. Simply search Google using the term "SEO" or "search engine optimisation" to locate a professional SEO.

As a rule we suggest that the sites we build allow for free movement of search engine spiders, your text and the links that point to your site then determin how your site is ranked and for which keywords, these will usually be lower ranking or localised keywords for (example 'mobile phone repairs Birmingham'). If you would like your site to appear for extremelly competitive keywords (for example 'mobile phones') then this will require a budget of multiple thousands and an SEO expert.

How do I know who has been on my website or E-flyer ?
Every website we create comes with Google Analytics installed. We rely on this to deliver an in-depth insight into the people that visit your site and their actions. This helps in site development ,enabling you to gauge responses and the success rates of advertising campaigns.
